BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men's basketball student-athlete Derrick Alston, Jr. and fellow members of the BroncoLife program are spearheading a coat drive to support the local Boise community. Alston and others will help Boise State Athletics collect new and gently-used coats Saturday, Dec. 28, at the men's basketball game against CSUN. Coat collection will begin when the doors open at 3 p.m. in ExtraMile Arena Lobby 2. Tipoff is at 4 p.m.

All fans who donate a coat will receive a discounted $7 ticket to attend the game.

All coats collected will be donated to the Boise Rescue Mission. Anybody who cannot attend the game but would like to make a donation can bring their new or gently-used coats to Taryn Schutte in the Varsity Center at the south end of Albertsons Stadium. Coats can be brought to the Varsity Center Thursday (Dec. 19) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Friday (Dec. 20) from 8 a.m to 1 p.m.

"It's the season of giving and cold weather and there are a lot of men, women, boys and girls in Boise right now who can use our help staying warm," Alston said. "We wanted to use the platform that athletics gives us to make a positive impact on others, especially people in our community."
