DISH sucks!

My DISH TV service went out early this afternoon from a loss of signal. At first the onscreen message said to try a different channel, which I did but I got the same lack of signal screen. I tried 3 more channels and got the same result on the forth try I got a screen that listed things to do to restore my signal.
1. Check to see if anything is blocking the dish. Check
2. Unplug the receiver for 10 seconds an then plug it back in. Check

Now I know there were a bunch of other steps listed but I don't remember them and My receiver never turned back on. I tried to power it back on repeatedly but the best I got was the little green (power) light to stay on for a couple of seconds before going back out.

so I tried to call customer support but got nothing but a busy signal. No answering machine. Nothing but a busy signal ... every time I called ... for 15 min.

OK, will try the online customer support. Here is a transcript of that experience:

Krazy, maybe that little card that slides into the reciver got too hot and melted or is warped. Happened to me once, I have Direct TV.
 
I've already related my experience with Dish Network and as I said on that message (just a few days ago) I will NEVER - NEVER - NEVER - use Dish Network again.

CableOne works great for me but I do not have a High Def T.V. (which doesn't matter in the case of the Mtn or Versus or CBSCollege sports as none of them are televised in High Def) - but if you have a High Def T.V. you are probably going to have to go with DirecTV (but I have no interest in returning to them either).

Judging by your account here it seems Dish Network has only gotten MUCH worse since I used their services WELL over 10 years ago. I'd advise you to ask for an adjustment on your bill for this month - but then again you'd probably have to spend another 4 or 5 hours on hold to do that.
