BOISE, Idaho— Boise State men’s basketball junior Nick Duncan was named Academic All-District 7 First Team Thursday, by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Duncan holds a 3.78 cumulative grade-point average as a double major in finance and accounting.

Duncan, a native of Sydney, Australia, is the first Bronco men’s basketball student-athlete named Academic All-District since Kurt Cunningham in 2010.

A starter at forward for Boise State, Duncan plays 31.1 minutes per game, is fourth on the team in scoring (11.8 points per game), fourth in rebounding (4.0 rpg), second in assists (1.7 apg) and third in steals (0.96 spg). Duncan has made a team-best 52 three-pointers this season and ranks No. 9 in Boise State history with 169 for his career.

District 7 encompasses Division I schools in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. Duncan advances to the Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

The only Bronco men’s basketball student-athlete to earn Academic All-America recognition is Matt Nelson in 2008 (third team).
