THE GAME: The Boise State men’s basketball team opens the 2011-12 regular season at Taco Bell Arena Friday, squaring off against Colorado Christian of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Tip-off between the Broncos and Cougars is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and the game will follow the Boise State women’s basketball game against Southern Oregon, scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

TICKET INFORMATION: Tickets for Friday’s game can be purchased for $6 through halftime of the women’s game at the ticket office. After halftime, tickets are $16 (parquet) and $13 (mezzanine) for adults, and $7 for youth.

SERIES HISTORY: Friday’s meeting is the first all-time between the Broncos and Cougars.

VERSUS THE RMAC: Colorado Christian is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, a league Boise State is 4-1 against during the regular season. The Broncos defeated Western State (78-52) of the RMAC in last year’s season opener.

ANOTHER SEASON UNDER RICE: Leon Rice enters his second season as head coach at Boise State. During 2010-11, the Broncos went 22-13 (.629), making Rice the winningest first-year head coach in school history.

2010-11 REVIEW: Boise State finished second in the Western Athletic Conference last season (10-6), made the conference championship game and tied the school record with two postseason victories in reaching the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational.
