At first glance when taking a look at Boise States 1st commit of the 2018 Class, Phillip Mills. A Strong Safety out of Temecula Valley Menifee Ca., Paloma Valley HS, you get the feeling once again that Boise State has uncovered another great player who surely lives up to what you see on the field. Not to mention being the 11th ranked safety in the West and a top 100 player by Rivals

3 things Stand out when watching Phillips tape.

1. He has a strong field vision. In most cases Mills is a part of every tackle and every play on defense. If you watch closely he's patient and reads offenses extremely well which give him opportunities on every play. whether it's coming across the field or head on Mills has the ability with his reads to stretch the field and close avenues quickly in any defensive stance or formation. Phillip Also has the speed to close from behind as well which is a nice addition.

2. Mills is a solid tackler. Phillip surely has great speed in, but also is what seems to be a sure tackler. The Boise State football program has struggled in this arena for quite a few years now and with the proper coaching should be a welcome sight to Boise States secondary coming in for 2018.

And last but not least...

3rd. Mills is 6'3 and 215 lbs and has great closing speed. You could almost see him in a Nickle/LB/SS hybrid position coming in because he does have the size. It surely will be interesting to see where the Boise State football program uses these 3 strengths when Mills arrives.
