Boise State will host its fifth-annual Blue vs. Orange open scrimmage in Bronco Gym Saturday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. prior to the football game later that night (8:15 p.m.). The scrimmage will be the first opportunity for fans to watch the 2017-18 team.

The scrimmage tip time will allow fans the chance to enjoy the Bronco Walk beforehand and conclude with ample time to enter Albertsons Stadium before kickoff.

In what will be head coach Leon Rice’s eighth year at the helm, this year’s team returns eight letterwinners – three of which were starters – from a 2016-17 team that finished the season 20-12 and advanced to the second round of the NIT. The 20-win season was the fifth straight for the Broncos, making Rice the first head coach in Boise State history to accomplish the feat.

Five newcomers (three transfers, two freshmen) will join this year’s roster, as well.

Parking for the scrimmage will be available in Lincoln Garage.

Boise State will open the 2017-18 campaign with an exhibition game in Taco Bell Arena against College of Idaho Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
