BOISE, Idaho – Former Boise State standout Shea McClellin has been tabbed to raise the Blue Chaos flag, Friday morning prior to the Broncos’ final regular-season home game.

McClellin recorded 20.5 sacks in his Bronco career (2008-11), a total that currently ranks seventh all-time at Boise State. He registered 53.5 tackles-for-loss, which is currently third on the Broncos’ career list.

He was named All-WAC First Team as a junior in 2010 and All-Mountain West First Team in 2011 as a senior. During his four seasons, Boise State was 50-3, including 29-2 in conference play. The Broncos captured the WAC in 2008-10 and won the 2010 Fiesta Bowl (2009 season), the 2010 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas and the 2011 MAACO Bowl Las Vegas.

The Chicago Bears selected McClellin in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft with the 19th pick overall. After appearing in 14 games off the bench for the Bears as a rookie, he made 31 starts over the next three seasons before finishing his career with the New England Patriots in 2016.

McClellin’s career totals in the NFL include 202 tackles (114 solo) and 8.5 sacks. He was a member of the Patriots’ Super Bowl LI championship season.
