ABOUT THE AGGIES: Utah State is 14-5, with a 3-3 record in Mountain West play. The Aggies are the reigning Mountain West regular-season and tournament champions and were the unanimous choice to win the league again this season. Returning Mountain West Player of the Year Sam Merrill is averaging a team-best 16.9 points per game. Neemias Queta, the 2018-19 MW Freshman of the Year, has been limited to seven games this season but is averaging 11.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game played.

SERIES HISTORY: Utah State leads the all-time series 33-15. The Broncos have won six of the last nine meetings, including three of the last four in Boise. The two teams met just once last season, a 78-71 Utah State win in Boise.

MAGIC MARKS: Boise State’s success in the win column this year can be correlated to a pair of basic metrics. The Broncos are 10-0 this season when holding opponents under 45 percent shooting from the field and 1-8 when allowing teams to shoot better than 45 percent. In all 11 of Boise State’s wins, the Broncos have held opponents to fewer than 70 points in regulation. During Leon Rice’s 10 seasons as head coach, Boise State has won 79 percent of its games in which it allowed fewer than 70 points (136-36).

HOME COOKING: Boise State is riding a seven-game home win streak and boasts an 8-1 mark at ExtraMile Arena this season. The Broncos are shooting 47.9 percent from the field in their nine home games, and limiting opponents to 39.3 percent, including a 26.6 percent clip behind the arc. The Broncos have never finished with a losing home record since ExtraMile Arena opened in 1982.
