Boise State men’s basketball will host its first and only exhibition game tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 2) at 7 p.m. against College of Idaho at Taco Bell Arena.
TICKETS: Available online (BroncoSports.com/tickets), over the phone (208-426-4737) or in person at the Athletic Ticket Office. Tickets start at $10 for adults with discounts for juniors ($2 off) and seniors ($1 off).
Single-game tickets and a Mountain West Mini Plan went on sale yesterday, as well.
PARKING: Open parking is available for the exhibition game in the stadium lots.
20 WINS AGAIN: Boise State hit the 20-win plateau for the fifth year in a row and the sixth time in Leon Rice’s seven years with last season’s 20-12 record. It is the first time in school history the Broncos have won 20 games in five consecutive seasons. Head coach Bobby Dye and guard Chris Childs led the Broncos to at least 20 wins in 1986-87, 1987-88 and 1988-89, the only previous three-year run. The Broncos had just seven 20-win campaigns since joining Division I before Rice took over.
2016-17 SEASON REVIEW: The Broncos finished the 2016-17 season with a 20-12 record, including a 12-6 mark in Mountain West play to finish third in the conference. The Broncos were selected to the National Invitation Tournament, advancing to the second round. With a berth in the NIT, Boise State made its 14th postseason appearance in program history and fourth in Leon Rice’s seven years as head coach (two NCAA Tournaments, one NIT and one CBI).
MW PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Senior Chandler Hutchison was selected as the Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year two weeks ago by 24 media members who cover the league. The Mission Viejo, Calif., native averaged 17.4 points and 7.8 rebounds last season and was recognized as All-Mountain West First Team, USBWA All-District VIII and NABC All-District 17. He also became the first Bronco in program history to record 500 points, 250 rebounds and 75 assists in the same season.
ABOUT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: The Yotes enter tomorrow’s exhibition having already played a pair of regular season games at home last weekend in defeating Northwest Indian College, 130-67, Friday, and then falling to Ottawa University, 67-66, Saturday. Coming off its third trip to the NAIA Division II National Championships in the last four years, College of Idaho was picked as the preseason favorite to win the Cascade Conference.
