Charleston Classic Bracket Announced
Boise State men's basketball will face host College of Charleston in the first round of the 2016 Gildan Charleston Classic, ESPN Events announced Thursday. The tournament begins Thursday, Nov. 17, with subsequent rounds played Nov. 18 and 20. All games will be played at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C.
The Broncos and Cougars will face off in the last game of the opening day. Tipoff is schedule for 7 p.m. ET (5 p.m. MT) on ESPN3. Boise State will face either Mississippi State or Central Florida in the second round. The other half of the bracket includes Villanova, Western Michigan, UTEP and Wake Forest.
A win in the opening game guarantees the Broncos' remaining games would be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
This marks Boise State's third appearance in major early-season tournament since Leon Rice took over as head coach. The Broncos have been pitted against the host in the first round all three times. Boise State defeated Hawai'i in the opening round of the 2013 Diamond Head Classic. Last season the Broncos beat UC Irvine in their first game at the Wooden Legacy.
