BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Gymnastics Head Coach Tina Bird announced the addition of three future Broncos as part of the 2023 recruiting class, Wednesday.

Carly Buell

Buell joins the Broncos from Tacoma, Wash., where she competed for Ascend Gymnastics coached by Sarah Korngold and Brett Wargo. A two-time national qualifier, Buell registered a seventh-place bar finish and a 22nd-place all-around finish in 2021. She is also a three-time regional bar champion.

What Coach Bird Says: “Carly is an amazing bar worker who will be a wonderful addition to our bar squad, in addition to her strengths in the other events.”

Julia Krzywanski

Krzywanski is a native of Englewood, Fla., where she competed for Golden City Gymnastics coached by Marissa Ramos. She was a regional bar champion and qualified for nationals where she finished 10th AA.

What Coach Bird Says: “I am so excited to have Julia join our team next year. She is an outstanding gymnast across all four events and will be a staple in our lineup. She embraces the Bronco culture of academic, athletic and moral excellence.”

Mahleea Werline

Werline comes to Boise from Henderson, Nev. The Salcianu Elite Gymnastics product was coached by Tammy and Sorin Salcianu. She qualified for the level 10 state championships in 2020 and obtained a junior elite compulsory score.

What Coach Bird Says: “Mahleea has bled blue for many years now, and we are thrilled to officially welcome her into the Bronco family. She is a beautiful gymnast and person, and we can’t wait to see what she will accomplish at Boise State.”
