MW Announces 2017 Schedule

BOISE, Idaho – The Mountain West released its 2017 football schedule Thursday, including permanent dates, kick times and broadcast information for two of Boise State’s nonconference games. For the remainder of the schedule, dates are subject to change and kickoff times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

Boise State’s home game against Virginia has been moved to Friday, Sept. 22, and will kick at 6 p.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2. The Cavaliers will be the first school from the Atlantic Coast Conference to play a regular-season game at Albertsons Stadium.

Also moved to Friday was the Broncos’ nonconference road game at BYU, set for Oct. 6. The game is slated to kick at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN.

Including the game against Virginia, Boise State will play three home games during the first month of the season, opening the 2017 slate against Troy (Sept. 2) at Albertsons Stadium, and opening conference play against New Mexico, Sept. 16. The lone road tilt during September will be played in the second week of the season, as the Broncos travel to the Palouse to square off against Washington State (Sept. 9).

The road game at BYU is one of three played away from Albertsons Stadium during October. Following the match-up with the Cougars, Boise State will hit the road once more to square off against West Division rival San Diego State (Oct. 14) for the first time since 2014. The Broncos will then face a pair of Mountain Division foes in back-to-back weeks, hosting Wyoming (Oct. 21) and traveling to Utah State (Oct. 28).

During the final month of the regular season, Boise State hosts Nevada (Nov. 4) before traveling to Colorado State (Nov. 11). The Broncos’ final regular-season home game will be played against Air Force (Nov. 18), and the regular-season finale is scheduled for Nov. 25 at Fresno State.

Today’s announcement represents the first phase in the 2017 schedule process. The Mountain West’s national television partners – ESPN and CBS Sports Network – can still shift particular games to Thursdays and Fridays, which will then be followed by the announcement of broadcast information and kick times. Upon conclusion of this process, additional games can be selected for broadcast by ROOT Sports and the Mountain West Network on Campus Insiders.

Season ticket packages for 2017 are currently on sale, and start as low as $165 in the North Endzone. Ticket prices remained flat across the board, with the exception of the Family Plan, which decreased in price by nearly $100.
