I had a chance to get some questions answered from Traver Vliem about his recruitment. First and foremost I wanted to know all of the offers that Traver has on the table. Vliem currently has 18 schools. The FBS division schools are Boise State, Fresno State, UCF, Georgia Southern, Louisiana Monroe, Toledo, Nevada, Western Michigan, Ohio, Air Force, UTEP, and Army.
Vliem has taken some official visits with UCF and Air Force in the past and has some visits set with Georgia Southern on January 15th and Boise State January 29th. He would like to have “a decision within the next couple weeks before spots fill up at any of the schools I’m heavily interested in, but at the same time, I don’t want to commit anywhere before I visit.”
In what’s important in a school Traver said “academics are very important. This isn’t a 4 year decision, it’s a 40 year decision. I also want to go somewhere that I’m wanted, and not just needed.”
I asked what Traver had learned from the whole recruiting process,” It has taught me responsibility and how important my future is and you have to look at your decision as if you’re 40 with a family rather than just a 17 or 18 yr old going to play football somewhere because this decision will affect all of those things.”
With all of these offers and some future official visits set up Traver has his work cut out for him, but as of right now, his top 3 are UCF, Boise State, and Georgia Southern. See his highlights below:
