Had the opportunity to chat with Austin Alexander and find out about his most recent visits. Austin is a 6’5” 215 lb WR from Oakdale, Connecticut. Alexander currently holds offers from Purdue, UCF, Fresno State, Boise State, Central Michigan, Buffalo, UTEP, and Hawaii. Schools that are still showing interest in recruiting the receiver are Oregon State, Maryland, and Iowa.

Austin has visited Purdue this last december and will be visiting UCF next. Alexander plans to bring his “catching ability, size and speed, along with being a big time playmaker,” to whatever school he signs with and models his game after “Calvin Johnson.” He is mostly being recruited as a wide receiver although a few schools are insisting him to transfer over to a TE.

Alexander says what’s most important “I want to be able to have a good relationship with my coaches and know they’ll look at me as more than just a player, also a program the needs me and doesn’t just want me.” What excites him about his Boise State offer “I like their program a lot this last season and would of wanted to join them; however they think I can fill the role for their TE and be a hand in the dirt type of guy” and he honestly isn’t as thrilled by that and said that “I don’t think that I can fill that role.”

One unknown thing most fans don’t know about Austin Alexander is “this is my second year playing football and I’m ready to shock the world at the next level, stay tuned”
