BOISE, Idaho – Boise State football head coach Andy Avalos, wife Summer and daughters Paityn and Paige announced the inaugural Avalos Family Christmas Drive, an initiative to bring shoes and warm coats to Treasure Valley youth in need during the winter months, the family announced Sunday.

“Our family has felt incredibly loved and supported by Bronco Nation over the years,” Andy and Summer Avalos said. “We talk as a family often about the importance of giving back. Our daughters, Paityn and Paige, have felt the joy of giving and are always looking for ways to show kindness to others. We are so excited to launch this annual Christmas Drive with the help of our entire Bronco Family."

The Boise State football team will host multiple opportunities for dropping off new or gently-used coats and shoes:

Dec. 14 | 6-7 p.m.
In advance of the Boise State men’s basketball team’s game against Santa Clara, members of the Bronco football team will be collecting items at each entrance to ExtraMile Arena. Tickets to the game will be available for $5 for anyone donating items to the drive.

Dec. 16 | 6-8:30 p.m.
Coach Avalos and members of the Boise State football team will be at the open patio of the food pavilion located at the Village at Meridian from 7:15-8:15 p.m., collecting items, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. Buster and members of the Boise State Spirit Squad will be on-site from 6-7:15 p.m.

Dec. 20 | 4:30-5:30 p.m.
In advance of the Boise State women’s basketball team’s game against Warner Pacific, members of the Bronco football team will be collecting items at each entrance to ExtraMile Arena. Free tickets will be available for anyone donating items to the drive.
