Thomas Inks Nine for 2020 Season
BOISE, Idaho – Head coach Jim Thomas announced his 2020 recruiting class, Wednesday. The Boise State women’s soccer team added nine signees, including seven NLIs and two walk-on recruits.
Leading off the recruiting class are pair of local recruits from Boise, Idaho
Mariah Albin | Forward | Boise, Idaho
Albin is a product of Boise High, where she earned 2018 First-Team All- Southern Idaho Conference (SIC) and second-team all-state. In 2019, Albin earned second-team All-SIC and first-team honors for the State of Idaho. She earned the goal of the year for Boise High in 2019. She was the top goal scorer in Idaho 5A soccer for 2019. She played club soccer with the Idaho Rush where they were the 2016 champions of the Northwest Regional League and 2018 champions of the Las Vegas Players Showcase. In 2017-18, the Rush were Idaho State Cup finalists. In 2016 and 2018, Albin competed internationally with the Rush Select National Team. She is currently taking classes at Boise State concurrent to her high school courses.
Payton Baratcart | Midfielder | Boise, Idaho
Baratcart is also slated to graduate of Boise High in 2020. She played all four years at the varsity level, earning the 2017-18 goals of the year. In 2018, she was Boise High’s leading goal scorer and the state’s leading goal scorer in 2019. Baratcart earned first-team all-conference for the 2018-20 seasons. She is a three-time All-Academic SIC honoree 2018-20. And is currently a four year, 4.0 student. Baratcart played her club soccer for FC Nova, in Boise. During her time there, FC Nova won the four-straight Idaho state championships.
The recruiting class includes three California natives.
Mia Burns | Forward/Defender | Newport Beach, Calif.
Burns is expected to graduate from Mater Dei High School in Newport Beach, Calif., in spring of 2020. She is one of two walk-on recruits for the Broncos. She was the Trinity League’s leading scorer for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons and was named the varsity soccer offensive MVP in 2017-18. She also earned All-Trinity League honors in 2017-18. Burns was a three-sport athlete in high school, competing in soccer, track and beach volleyball. Off the pitch, Burns was an ASB senator for two years. She earned the Presidents Silver Volunteer Service Award three years and was a member of the Fellowship of Athletic Monarchs all four years. Burns played club soccer for the LAFC Slammers ECNL. She was the Top Drawer ECNL San Diego playoffs standout in 2019 and LAFC Slammers were the 2018-19 Southwest Conference champions.
Genevieve Crenshaw | Goalkeeper | Cypress, Calif.
Crenshaw is a 2020 projected graduate of Cypress High School, in Cypress, Calif. She was named second team all-league freshman year. She earned team and league MVP and was named first-team all-league her junior year. She also played volleyball and was named first-team all-league freshman year and first-team all-league her sophomore and junior years. She was a member of the Strikers ECNL club soccer team based out of Irvine, Calif. Off the field, she was named to the all-academic team all four years for Volleyball and Soccer.
Mia Guerrero | Forward | Placentia, Calif.
Guerrero is a native of Placentia, Calif., and is expected to graduate from El Dorado High School, where she won her league her freshman and sophomore years. Her team went to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) semifinals round her freshman year. Guerrero scored the game-winning goal in a quarterfinal match her sophomore season. She played club soccer with the Fullerton Rangers where they won the national league and reached the semifinal round of the National Cup.
Three of the recruits hail from the state of Washington.
Alison Kremer | Midfielder/Defender | Sammamish, Wash.
Kremer is one of two walk-ons for the Broncos. She is slated to graduate in spring of 2020 from Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash. In 2016, her team went 15-1-4 en route to a KingCo championship and a third-place finish in the state. The Spartans followed that with another championship in 2017. Kremer was name First Team All-League and Skyline reached the quarterfinals round in the state. In 2018, Skyline won the state championship and Kremer earned Second-Team All-KingCo, First Team all-state, and was a 4A Sportsmanship Award Winner. She was named the varsity team captain in 2019 and was on the watch list for the 2019 High School All-American game. Kremer was 2018 named to the United Soccer coaches Youth Girls All-West Regional Team. She played her club soccer with the ISC Gunners G01A.
Morgan Miles | Forward | Puyallup, Wash.
Miles is from Puyallup, Wash., where she will graduate from Rogers High School in spring of 2020. She earned the Presidential Award in 2016. She was named first-team all-league four-straight years. Miles was also named Rogers HS MVP four-straight years. She played her club soccer for Washington Premier FC where she earned ECNL All-Conference honors from 2016-18. WPFC was also a 2018 ECNL national playoff quarterfinalist. Miles was named to regional team and Generation Adidas in 2016 and the National Camp in 2017.
Jocelyn Stevens | Defender | Seattle, Wash.
The final Washington recruit comes from Seattle, Wash. Stevens is projected to graduate from Seattle Prep in spring of 2020. She was an All-Conference Honorable mention her first year, her team were conference champions and place third in the state. In 2017 she earned First Team All-Conference, while Seattle Prep won its second-straight conference championship. Stevens was honored with a first team All-Conference accommodation for the second time in 2018. In 2019 she was named the varsity captain and the team finished as conference finalists. Stevens was a varsity track athlete in 2017-18 and was a member of the leadership council for the 2019-20 school year. She played her club soccer with Pacific Northwest Soccer Club, where they won the 2017 Washington State Championship and won the 2107-18 CrossFire Challenge. Stevens was also a member of the Olympic Developmental Program Travel Team from 2016-18.
Kassidy Sayles | Forward | Las Vegas, Nev.
Sayles is the lone recruit to come from Nevada, where she is slated to graduate from Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas. As a freshman, she led the team in goals and assists. She played her club soccer with HEAT ECNL 02.
