FRESNO STATE CLINCHES MW WEST DIVISION CROWN AND SPOT IN 2018 MOUNTAIN WEST FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
– Fresno State has clinched the West Division crown and a spot in the 2018 Mountain West Football Championship Game, which will be played Saturday, Dec. 1. Kickoff is set for 5:45 p.m. MT/4:45 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on ESPN for the third consecutive year.

Fresno State’s 23-14 victory over San Diego State on Saturday evening secured the second consecutive division title for the Bulldogs. Fresno State is currently 6-1 in Mountain West play (9-2 overall) and holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over both SDSU and Nevada. The Bulldogs defeated Nevada 21-3 on Oct. 6.

The 2018 Mountain West Football Championship Game will be played at the home venue of the winner of next Saturday’s game between Utah State and Boise State. If the Aggies win, they will have a better Conference win percentage than the Bulldogs, while the Broncos would host with a win due to a head-to-head victory over Fresno State on Nov. 9.

Tickets for the MW Football Championship game will be available through both participating institutions’ ticket offices.
