He was the 391st pick overall in the Major League Baseball draft this year. Apparently he WILL sign a contract with the Phillies next week for $100,000. He will get half of that amount when he signs and the other half when he reports to the Phillies to play baseball.

He still plans to play football for Boise State tho.............baseball is his fallback plan. Not to shabby to get $50,000 simply for signing your name on a contract - and still be able to play college football.

So.... is he obligated to attend any Philly activities??

A little explanation here from IPT.

So it sounds like he will be off scholarship with the phillies paying his way. That could add one more for this year.

""I'd still have to talk to Coach Pete," Martarano said. "If I have some
off time and can play baseball for two or three weeks, I can do that. It
gives me an opportunity to keep both doors open in case football
doesn't work out."

Is there a reason you included a link to the same story that I included a link to in the first message CG???

Also, you clearly read something in that article that I did not. Same article - completely different interpretation of same.
