This is just an opinion, but I think it is a solid plan, kind of like Doc Brown's plan in "Back to the Future".
Since 95% of college football's offenses consist of some form of the speed, read and run as many plays as humanly possible to "tire out defenses" option. I think at this point in time in the CFB landscape, it would be a good idea, check that, a great idea to get back to the traditional offense of a power running game, the play action pass and last but not least the reintroduction of the tight end position into the traditional offense.
Think about it, with a ball control offense you would limit the number of plays the hyper speed team could run, you'd keep your defense off the field and prevent them from getting gassed, and you would reintroduce the long lost art of traditional run blocking. You would also put the game back into the hands of the players, most notably the QB. The fake cadence, only to have the entire team stand up and stare at the sidelines for instructions would be gone, even better the dreaded hand clap by the QB as a snap count would be gone. No more 3 feet by 4 feet cardboard signs with those goofy pictures being held up by the 2nd, 3rd and 4th string QB's. Do the offenses of today really need a picture of Bruce Jenner errrrr... Katelyn Jenner, or a picture of "The Empire Strikes Back" Darth Vader and "Honey Boo Boo"? Maybe they can start flashing them on the jumbotron. Can you honestly say that CFB offenses have advanced in this new generation?
I guess in the end I'm just an old fart arm chair QB, who used to be the biggest CFB fan alive, now I can take it or leave it. I dream of the days where I could turn on the idiot box (today known as the smart phone) and watch teams run different offenses, now all I see is everyone running the same gimmicky stuff that does nothing more than inflate stat numbers and takes the thought process completely out of the game.
Last but not least, can we talk about the stupid targeting rule..... nevermind, stick a fork in me I'm done.
