Speed. Versatility. Great Hands. All 3 of these traits are what you think of when expecting great talent out of Wide Receiver. Over the past decade, Boise State has been graced with some of the best wide receivers in college football from Matt Miller, Titus Young all the way to present time with Thomas Sperbeck and Cedrick Wilson. These 3 traits have can be seen in every great BSU receiver and the most WR recent commit is no different.

His name is Cartrell Thomas. He is 5’10”, 158 lbs and from Lancaster High School, Lancaster, TX.

While watching his HS Football Highlights you can see shades of Shane-Williams Rhodes. Thomas has all the tools at his disposal to make a great Wide Receiver. Boise State can use him in the run and pass game, thanks to his amazing speed and versatility. Although he isn’t the tallest of players, he does do a go job at attacking the ball at it’s high point when in the air. His ability to catch quick slants over the middle will give the Broncos a new dimension in their offense that they don’t currently have. In addition to that, his film shows him featured on deep routes often and he can use his speed to gain separation, giving him a nice balance to his shorter routes.

Speed, Versatility, and Great Hands make Cartrell Thomas a standout for Boise State and I’m sure they can’t wait to get him on the Blue Turf. Welcome to Boise State, Cartrell.
