Now UA is right in the mix with an in-home visit coming up Thursday between Ulloa and Marcel Yates as well as an official visit in the works for next week.

“My coach, coach (Matt) Logan, at my high school reached out to Arizona and they jumped on it right away,” Ulloa said. “After they got their defensive staff situated with hiring coach Donté (Williams) and coach (Marcel) Yates is when they extended the offer. Before it wasn’t expected but after the decommit and talking more with coach Logan that was when I was expecting them to at least reach out and show interest.”

Chacho Ulloa expects to have Marcel Yates in home this week as Arizona makes its move

Williams has plenty of connections in Southern California and Yates was recruiting Ulloa last week when he was at Boise State so there is already some connection there with Arizona’s new staff members.

“Coach Donté, I’ve never really met or talked to him but from a lot of players and a lot of coaches I’ve heard great things so that kind of gets me pumped about that,” he said. “And I know he’s a well-known DB coach across the nation so that’s a big eye opener. And coach Yates actually I was talking to him last Thursday or Friday and he was recruiting me as a Boise State coach. ... He was really interested in me. ... A couple days later he gets hired as the new DC at Arizona and he’s right back on it recruiting me.

“... It’s kinda crazy it happened in those couple days, but all the coaches are showing high interest in me.”
