Talked with some recruits yesterday and today about their visit to Boise. I'll have a full article coming on OL Conner Crist posted in a day or two. Below are some quotes about what they liked about Boise as well as what coaches said to them.
DT Colton Durrant: "I love how the coaches are alumni. It means their system is great and they are bought into being a Bronco. The strength coach was really personable and I spoke briefly with the D-line coach. He remembered me from camp last year and is looking forward to seeing me at camp again this year."
QB Garrison Beach "Boise State had an awesome atmosphere and facilities. When you walk in you just immediately go wow! I loved the weight room. There were alot of fans at the Spring Game and the students support the team fully. No students are looked down at for being a football player. Coach Drinkwitz is very energetic and he said he'll be visiting this spring. He talked about the 5 things they look for in a QB and I think I fit them perfectly."
DE Max Christensen "It was really good. I was able to sit in on the D-line meeting; it was cool to sit in with actual players and look at plays. Then got to talk with Coach Caldwell. He really likes my game and is excited to see me back at camp this summer. The fan base is so loyal and crazy, you can tell they love BSU football. It's an awesome atmosphere."
DE Jake Pitcher "I really enjoyed it. The facilities were some of the best I've seen. I liked how they have a football-only weight room. The coaches were easy to talk to, not awkward. They seemed like they care about what I said. I would fit into their defense well, they have a hybrid DE/LB position which I play in high school. It was cool so many of their players graduated and have high GPA's. They are about academics as well as athletics."
OL Conner Crist "The visit went really well. It was really cool to see the Blue in person. I like the coaching staff, especially the O-line coach. Huff is a cool guy who likes to have fun but also knows when to be serious. He and Coach Harsin are easy to talk to and really like how I move for a big guy and am physical. They want to see me play in person."
2017 QB Connor Neville: "I really enjoyed Boise. I loved coach Drink, he's really funny. I would love to play for a coach like that. He really makes sure players understand why they made a mistake when they made certain decisions. Very detail focused. They told me I move my feet well in the pocket and throw the ball well. It really impressed me that they had watched my film before meeting them.
2017 WR Jonny Neville "I had a great time! The rain kinda sucked during the game but other than that it was awesome. I enjoyed meeting the coaches. Got to talk with Coach Drinkwitz and Coach Harsin at the end. Harsin told me about competing against myself everyday to better myself and never be satisfied. That really stood out to me."
