Impressive list. Especially when you look at what those recruits were ranked (stars) when they were recruited.

So are the recruiting analysts just not getting it right with these players or does Petersen & Co. just do that much better a job of developing players for the NFL?

Tommy Gallarda, who was on the Falcons practice squad last season, had 1 catch for 4 yards last Thursday in the Falcons first pre-season game. He's one of FOUR TE's on the Falcons roster who are trying to earn the # 3 TE spot on their roster. Adam Tinsley is one of those three other TE's trying to earn the final TE spot on the roster and he had 1 catch for 16 yds but then limped off the field with an injury on that play.

LaMark Brown, a former WR who is being tried at TE, had two balls thrown his way last Thursday and failed to catch either one of them - one of which resulted in an interception when he failed to reach out and get the ball.

Aron White had two catches for 22 yds, but his 2nd reception, for 7 yds, ended with him fumbling the ball and turning it over to Baltimore.

The top two spots for TE's on the Falcons roster are pretty well sown up for # 1 TE Tony Gonzalez and backup TE Michael Palmer.

Richie Brockel, with the Carolina Panthers, plays tonight when the Panthers host the Houston Texans. That game will be televised tonight beginning at 5 p.m. M.S.T. on the NFL Network (channel 331 on CableOne here in Boise),

Here's a link to a story which breaksdown the TE's for the Panthers (from last month)

Here's a link to a story found on the Bears official website which sings the praises of Shea McClellin's debut for the Bears in their 1st pre-season game

Winston Venable was waived by the Bears according to a story dated May 3rd so this list (from ESPN.com) is in error in listing Venable as a member of the Bears.

UPDATE as of the countdown to 53 players yesterday. Here are the former Boise State players who are (still) on an N.F.L. roster as of today, Saturday, Sep. 1, 2012:

Boise State players in the NFL as of August 2012
PLAYER TEAM POSITION
Daryn Colledge Arizona Cardinals Offensive Guard
Nate Potter Arizona Cardinals Offensive Tackle

Tommy Gallarda Atlanta Falcons Tight End

Richie Brockel Carolina Panthers Tight End

Shea McClellin Chicago Bears Linebacker

George Iloka Cincinnati Bengals Free Safety

Billy Winn Cleveland Browns Defensive Tackle

Tyrone Crawford Dallas Cowboys Defensive End
Orlando Scandrick Dallas Cowboys Cornerback

Ryan Clady Denver Broncos Offensive Tackle

Kellen Moore Detroit Lions Quarterback
Titus Young Detroit Lions Wide Receiver

Legedu Naanee Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver

Korey Hall New Orleans Saints Fullback
Derek Schouman New Orleans Saints Tight End

Kyle Wilson New York Jets Cornerback

Jeron Johnson Seattle Seahawks Safety

Quintin Mikell St. Louis Rams Safety
Austin Pettis St. Louis Rams Wide Receiver (Placed on Reserve/Injured list yesterday)

Doug Martin Tampa Bay Buccaneers Running Back

Here's a list of the NFL transactions in the last few days involving former Boise State players:

LG - Aaron Tevis was waived by the New Orleans Saints last Monday

CB - Brandyn Thompson was released by the Washington Redskins yesterday (Friday) on the final cut down to 53 players

CB - Chris Carr and
DT - Chase Baker both had their contracts "terminated" by the Vikings yesterday on the final cut down to 53 players

DE - Jarrell Root was Waived/Injured by the Miami Dolphins yesterday on the final cut down to 53 players

TE - Kyle Efaw was Waived by the Oakland Raiders yesterday on the final cut down to 53 players

By my count that still leaves 20 former Boise State players on N.F.L. rosters as of today.

One day after being released by the Vikings former Boise State DT Chase Baker was re-signed and put on the Vikings practice squad, so the "count" goes back up to 21 former Boise State players on N.F.L. rosters as of today.

Very impressive, I do have question. Why do the WYO posters/ guys, whoever they r, hate you guys so much? I was checking their board because the Bball team is undeafeted yet NOT ranked! After checking who they have played and all but two or three on road and the # of DII teams they have played. Of course they did beat my young #19 ranked BUFF team. But as I went through some boards they were ripping on u guys. Some rival thing going on or jealously? I think it's awsome u guys opened the BCS door for teams like N. ILL. Etc...
