BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men’s basketball team has scheduled a home-and-home series with BYU, the first time the schools have played on the hardwood in more than a decade, the programs announced Tuesday.

The Broncos and Cougars will square off this season in Boise, Nov. 20. Boise State will make the return to Provo, Utah, next year, though the date has yet to be determined.

This season’s game will be played at what will be known as ExtraMile Arena, pending approval from the State Board of Education.

“This is a great addition to our nonconference schedule, and a great series for basketball fans in our region,” head coach Leon Rice said.

Boise State last played BYU on Dec. 10, 2008, in Provo, ending a stretch of six-consecutive years in which the teams played in nonconference action. The Broncos last hosted the Cougars on Dec. 29, 2007.

The Broncos trail 4-9 in the all-time series, but won each of the last two meetings in Boise – Nov. 29, 2006 (72-68) and Dec. 29, 2007 (73-70). The Broncos have lost the last three meetings in Provo, the last win coming Dec. 13, 1996 (65-58).

Boise State announced a series with UC Irvine, a 30-win team and the 2019 Big West Champions, late last week. The Anteaters and Broncos will square off in Boise, Nov. 15, 2019. The remainder of the Broncos’ nonconference schedule for next season will be announced later this summer.

Season tickets for the 2019-20 season are on sale now, and can be purchased at BroncoSports.com/tickets, or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at (208) 426-4737.
