BOISE, Idaho – Boise State baseball has added another pitcher to its staff. Travis Weston, a left-handed transfer out of Ventura College (Calif.), has signed a National Letter of Intent, Bronco Head Coach Gary Van Tol announced Wednesday.

Weston is coming off a solid 2019 season at Ventura. The Moorpark, Calif., native posted an 8-3 record with two saves in 15 appearances, including 10 starts. The southpaw recorded a 2.63 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 75 1/3 innings to help the Pirates capture a Western State Conference title.

“We are excited to add another quality left-handed pitcher to our staff,” Van Tol said. “Travis’s skill set, experience and make-up will give us another option who can help us in the starting rotation or out of the bullpen. He’s athletic, throws three pitches for strikes and will do whatever it takes to help our program. He’s fired up to be a Bronco. We’re fired up to have him.”

Boise State’s roster now consists of 30 student-athletes, including 13 pitchers. Weston is the fourth pitcher from a junior college the Broncos have signed in this year’s class, not including Reed Harrington, who turned pro after being selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
