- 2017 four-star Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde wide receiver Bryan Thompson has set his official visit to Boise State for Sept. 10. It's been a long time coming with Thompson and getting him on campus, but he's made the Broncos a priority since he's been slated to visit three previous times that didn't work out. There's a well documented strong relationship between Thompson and BSU receivers coach Junior Adams, and while I don't expect Thompson to commit on his visit I expect the Broncos to be in it until the end, if not the winners of the sweepstakes.
- Sticking with receivers, the Broncos are in on a couple and keeping their eyes and ears open on a few more. However, 2017 three-star Provo (UT) wide receiver Ty Jones, a Washington commit, told me recently Boise State has been recruiting him the hardest of the non-UW schools he's still hearing from, but that he remains solid to Washington. Don't expect Jones to entertain serious interest in any other program including Boise State, given Petersen went out and broke his own rule by letting him commit before a visit took place.
- Defensively, one prospect to keep in mind at linebacker is three-star La Mesa (Calif.) Helix inside linebacker Ezekiel Noa, with Boise State being one of eight schools to offer already. A handful of Pac-12 schools including Colorado and Washington State have offered as well, but don't look passed Boise State.
- Another player worth following is 2017 three-star San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon cornerback/defensive back George Hicks, a current Washington State commit. Hicks will visit Boise State on Oct. 1, and with that being his first official visit set that speaks volume. The three-star prospect told me he's got a strong relationship with Head Coach Bryan Harsin, defensive coordinator Andy Avalos and defensive backs coach Ashley Ambrose, and before he committed to WSU he wanted to visit Boise State but the timing didn't workout. There is definite mutual interest, but he remains committed to WSU while taking some official visits.
