Leighton Vander Esch announced today that he will be foregoing his final season of eligibility and declaring for the NFL draft. Vander Esch, the MWC defensive player of the year, probably could not have higher stock this year with many scouts singing him praise. Vander Esch led the country in run stop percentage among all draft eligible inside linebackers.
Leighton Vander Esch is projecting by some scouts to go somewhere between the first two rounds of the draft. It will now be the fifth consecutive year Boise State has had a player declare early for the draft.
